The industry has been flourishing with different types of strains and compounds being discovered that benefit a variety of purposes.
In traditional Caribbean culture, people would gather herbs as a form of healing. They would gather various types of flowers, leaves, and roots to make a tea or a liquid concoction to help cure various physical, mental, and spiritual ailments.
It is well known that cannabis was introduced to the Caribbean by African slaves and East Indian laborers who brought with them their knowledge of the plant. This knowledge was quickly absorbed by those in the Caribbean and many new traditions and customs were created.
That’s why I am super excited to be interviewing Afro-Caribbean Traditional Herbal and Spiritual Healer Sistah Yaya Love of Soul Tribe Heals!

Drops or salve; Why?
Drops for sure! I enjoy the immediate effect I get from the sublingual application. Sometimes when I manage many projects, I am not aware when I need extra pain relief support, so when I take the drops, they know exactly what to do and where to go!
If you could be a cannabis superhero, who would you be?
Funny you asked this question. I would be Grand Nanny, the Queen of the Maroons of Jamaica. She used her spiritual gifts and knowledge of herbs and natural medicine to not only heal her people but to fight off the invaders that threatened her people, land, and culture. In addition, she made sure that future generations would have land to live and sustain their families. I would definitely be her!!

“You must thank everything in your life. Because it is perfect.”

Dab into Business!
How did you get started Soul Tribe Heals and why?
I was born into this healing tradition. My mom is Jamaican and is an oracle, seer, and spiritualist. My dad is Haitian, and we have heavy ties to spiritual and healing traditions of the Caribbean, in addition to a Pentecostal upbringing. So to ask when I started, I came to Earth with this gift and developed it over time.
There were times when I walked away from it to pursue other careers such as finance, modeling, charities, and more, but I always came back. When I was pregnant with my second child, I decided I didn’t want to work a job anymore. The rest and income that I wanted were not going to come from a job, so together in 2018 with my Spirit Team, we created Soul Tribe Heals.
What’s your niche and how did you find it?
Interesting question. When we were children, my grandfather used to make us Cannabis tea – it would help us sleep better, so I always had an awareness of its healing power. My niche in using this sacred herb is Spiritual Healing or Energy Healing.
My focus is on the healing effects of Cannabis to reach self-forgiveness, love, grace, and ease. I also focus on using Cannabis in helping to manifest as well.
In addition, I use it with other herbs to help improve the mind.
What are some talents, skills, experience, and knowledge you transferred to Cannabis?
Yes, I took my knowledge of Kromanti herbal medicine and applied it to the use of Cannabis. I also have a background in Public Health, so I spent a lot of time studying how this plant can help others heal themselves.
Since I speak several languages, I have had the fortune of working with other healers worldwide about the uses of Cannabis and how we can help others with this collective knowledge. And with my background in business and finance, we have been able to build a solid business model, helping spread the word about this sacred herb.
What are some talents, skills, experience, and knowledge you have picked up while in the space?
I have learned greater patience, love, and appreciation since really getting into Cannabis. I have learned how to open my heart be receptive and honest. These are some of the intrinsic things I picked up with Cannabis, and I have picked up amazing friends along the way.
Which tech tools did you use to start your Soul Tribe Heals?
I am NOT a tech person at all! I started this business 100% using Facebook. Later on, I got on IG, then YouTube (with much resistance, I’m still old school), and now we have a website – soultribeheals.com

Caribbean Healing & Herbalism 101
Caribbean Traditional Healing has its roots in both Herbs and Magic. This is especially true for the Maroons (Community of Indigenous People that banned their energies together) of the Caribbean.
They are those who have escaped enslavement (of mind, body, soul, and Spirit) and fled into the mountains and forests to live in freedom and independence.
The heart of Maroonage lies the essence of Kromanti, or Spirit Language, that is, a collection of the most effective Spiritual Practices during times of birth, marriage, divorce, war, peace, and more.
Kromanti comprises a vast array of methods and practices, allowing the individual and community to connect to their highest self, heal and transcend their circumstances.
This course intends to share Traditional Maroonage Medicine and Practices that have assisted us for generations to heal and renew the body, mind, and soul.
From our perspective, herbs and magic go hand in hand, and we learned how to see, speak and work with plants to invoke their magical essence to heal ourselves and our environment.
